In the midst of the world’s preoccupation with being a mere onlooker at the slaughter of Gaza, I felt ashamed of my art, and I asked myself, “What can I do in retaliation against what the Zionist mentality has done to our brothers and sisters in Gaza?”
I opted to face the ugliness and atrocities of the Zionist occupation with a humanitarian and aesthetic response. This exhibition is a tribute to the people of Gaza, who not only have helped us regain our dignity and life, but instilled in us the love of our land.
To you, the proud people of Gaza, I give my most humble respects.
