My paintings explore paradox and contrast, consider moody poses and verdant spaces, they aim to challenge the viewer to experience complexity. Strokes with polished curves and sharp edges; dark contours and amorphous boundaries. The subtexts of the paintings are searing intuition, emotional complexity and aesthetic polarity. I want my paintings to make people unravel the hidden faces; peel away the color; then nurture forever what they find. My figures convey the anxiety of disappearance or the erosion of identity. They also suggest the jarring intrusion of memory; the shock of recognition, or the agony of ambiguity. They have already dissolved and appear in another canvas or are buried under layers of paint..
