Bader Mahasneh, a Jordanian artist born in Jerash in 1977, has become a prominent influence on the local art scene. His paintings reflect the inner angst between man and the place he occupies within the universe through the use of rough surfaces and illuminated figures. He unceasingly experiments with his techniques and materials, never shying away from trying original and innovative methods, and is drawn to the beauty of natural materials, believing that their impurities add to their uniqueness. Within his body of work, one can also find paintings with somber yet severely striking faces and figures, highlighted by melancholic color schemes. Mahasneh has held multiple solo exhibitions both in Amman as well as Dubai and Germany, and has participated in group exhibitions in Jordan, Sweden, Bahrain, Italy, Lebanon and USA.
