Born in 1986, Jordanian artist Saad Rabadi received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Jordan. After graduating, he spent time in Beirut, where he worked in the fields of architecture and visual art. Since then, he has experimented with various mediums and large-scale panels while cultivating his unique artistic style, also working with watercolors and oil paintings extensively. Through his art, he addresses complex compositions with a mature eye using colors that are both vivid and atmospheric. Living in Amman, Rabadi paints his immediate surroundings with an intimate, dynamic expression. A number of his artworks are inspired by the city streets, where street lamps and neon signs glisten in the rain. His work is mostly about space and the relationship between people and their surroundings, expressed through art that is a unique hybrid of painting and sculpture. As an artist and architect, Rabadi has always been interested in the “spaces” that we occupy, and he is currently exploring singular ways to express the beauty and spiritual essence of spaces and their surrounding forms, imbuing his pieces with dramatic atmosphere and mood. He finds that the use of details from his surroundings that go unnoticed in daily life, influences the way he perceives and renders cityscapes. Dramatically and skillfully rendered, these works give a visual form to the emotive essence of modern life.
