The sacred spirit of the place, of Jerusalem, has touched my work and my very being. Jerusalem is ever present, near or far; it is always present, constantly standing tall and proud. I live and breathe Jerusalem and Jerusalem lives in me, as I use befitting lines, colors and materials and render them pliable in the service of the idea, while never falling in the trap of estrangement.
My work reflects the arches of the City, its times, history and legacy, always finding root in my own culture and all that is associated with the HolyCity in terms of culture and deep religious heritage.
Jerusalem, the occupation, the faces, the children, the sound and spiritual relationship between me and Jerusalem, the human struggle over the City – all make up the theme of my works at “Waiting”.
